These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of theleaforigin.ca and all purchases made from The Leaf Origin ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order or using our website, you agree to these Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada.

1. About Us

The Leaf Origin is an indoor microgreens farm based in Oshawa, Ontario. We grow and deliver pesticide-free, non-GMO microgreens to customers across Durham Region.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to place an order. By using our website, you confirm you meet this requirement. Our products are for personal or household consumption. Restaurant and wholesale inquiries must be made directly via email.

3. Orders and Payment

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes
Payment is processed securely at checkout via Shopify Payments or other accepted methods
We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion, including where a product is unavailable due to crop failure or supply issues beyond our control
If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method within 5–10 business days
We are not responsible for price errors caused by technical or typographical errors on the website; we reserve the right to cancel orders placed at incorrect prices

4. Product Descriptions and Availability

We make every effort to accurately describe our products. All health-related statements are general in nature and are not medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional for dietary or medical guidance. Product appearance may vary naturally from batch to batch as a fresh farm product. All products are subject to availability at the time of harvest.

5. Delivery

Delivery is subject to our Shipping & Delivery Policy. We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect addresses, inaccessible locations, or circumstances beyond our control including severe weather. Specific delivery times within our Saturday–Sunday window cannot be guaranteed.

6. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are governed by our Subscription Policy. By subscribing, you authorise recurring weekly charges to your payment method. You may cancel at any time subject to the cut-off times in our Subscription Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, photography, logos, product descriptions, and branding — is the property of The Leaf Origin and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our prior written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our website and its content are provided "as is". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy or completeness of website content, uninterrupted access to the website, or fitness for a particular purpose beyond what is required by Ontario consumer law.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, The Leaf Origin shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the value of the specific order giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights granted to you under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or other mandatory consumer protection legislation.

10. Food Safety Notice

Our microgreens are grown in compliance with applicable Canadian food safety standards. As fresh raw produce, we recommend washing microgreens before consumption. People with compromised immune systems, pregnant individuals, young children, and the elderly should consult a healthcare provider before consuming raw sprouts or microgreens.

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by Ontario law. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Ontario courts. You may also contact Consumer Protection Ontario for assistance.
